netKar pro

Well we haven't updated in a little while. Mostly because we haven't been racing. Sure we've raced in a few pickup races on Sierra but our schedules haven't enabled us to take in many league races.

But recently netKar pro was released and I picked it up. It's an independently developed open car sim. With Formula Fords, Formula Renaults(F2000) and Formula 3(FTarget) cars. Well to make up for some of my slow driving I've painted some cars. If you can't be fast, you should at least look good right?

Kicking up the sand in So Cal

ISRA's Aero 88 league was at the old Riverside International Raceway. Ryan Ligon decided to strap back into the drivers seat after a little time away from the wheel. For Ryan the practice speeds didn't translate into speed during qualifying or the race. The dust and sand of the southern California landscape turned out to be a factor for the #74 Tabasco Ford. "It was only lap two but I dropped a wheel in the dirt through the esses and it went around on me." Ryan said after the race. "But it sure was good fun getting back out there and burning some rubber."

'06 Season 'Green Flag has Waived'

The new season has started over at ISRA. Ryan Ligon and Ryan Hill are both racing in the Aero 88 division. Ryan Hill is also racing in the Trucks divison this season.

Last week the Aero 88 season kicked off at Richmond. Ryan Ligon in the #74 Tabasco Ford was relegated to a 13th place finish, while Ryan Hill and his #72 Hurst Olds were unable to finish the race.

Last Tuesday the action picked up again at North Carolina, The Rock. This track was know to be a tire eater, but less than 20 laps into the race The Rock claimed it's first engine. Here out the front windshield of the #74 Tabasco Ford it's hard to make out but that's Ryan Hill just in front in the Hurst Olds.

The racing was fun and tight all race. After a long green flag run through the latter half of the race was ended with back to back cautions, Ryan Ligon decided to go for track position with only 15 laps to go. He only had 4 laps on these tires and was able to jump up to 4th as a result. Heavy fender to fender racing was the tune till the checkered flag flew.

Ryan Ligon was able to bring home the #74 in 8th place while Ryan Hill had to retire half way through the race and finished in 14th.

Changing Lanes

R² Racing is proud to announce it will now be racing in the Internet Sim Racing Association, ISRA. The competition is high and the fields are large. "It seems like a very respectable group of guys, people I can see myself racing with day in and day out." Ryan Hill said earlier today.

Last night was the first Aero88 event at Daytona that fielded 33 cars. Ryan Ligon again qualified up front at Daytona, this time getting the third fastest qualifying time. Ryan Hill was further back in the pack.

But as luck would have it, back in the pack was the place to be. Ligon led several of the opening laps, but on lap 7 he had a connection problem that caused him to warp while leading the high line, as the whole pack was two wide. That caused the first big one. Many cars were damaged and Ryan Ligon's Tabasco Ford was out with a dead engine.


"I feel really bad, just not for my team, but for all the guys I knocked out from the front." Ryan Ligon said after the incident. "Just a poor debut in ISRA on my part."

Ryan Hill stuck with it and avoided a few more wrecks along the way. By halfway through the 250 mile race he had put himself up front where he continued to stay for the rest of the race. He was leading with only 6 to go but got stuck in the middle line and shuffled back to about tenth. By the time the checkered flag waived he had moved back up the sixth.

"The race last night was the best I've every been in." Ryan Hill said in an interview earlier today. "Its great when you trust the guys your running with to hold their line. Wish my teammate was up there for some support, because everyone else treated me like a rookie."
